Neven Redzic
GIS & Database Officer

As GIS and Database Officer for the LIS in Puntland, Neven is responsible for maintaining and
managing the SAC Geographic Information System and the survey database. This includes supervising and monitoring data collection,
assessing and ensuring quality control, producing statistical reports and maps as requested, as well as training national GIS staff
on the use of the IMSMA and related GIS applications. In addition, he coordinates with local UN and Mine Action centers regarding
data sharing and with SAC HQ and GICHD regarding IMSMA.
Neven began his career in 1997 as a Software Designer Freelance Consultant creating databases and
designing data entry forms. He worked in this capacity with a wide range of customers such as the Central Profit Bank of Sarajevo,
the European Commission in Sarajevo, and a TV station, also in Sarajevo.
After over five years in that position, Neven entered the field of Mine Action and began working
as the GIS/Data Expert for Handicap International with the Landmine Impact Survey in Bosnia and Herzegovina in December of 2002.
In this position Neven was responsible for management of both the GIS and IMSMA databases for the LIS as well as training field
staff and database operators in these fields. He also received the GICHD training for IMSMA operators in Tirana, Albania in March
of 2003 and was a consultant for BHMAC in different aspect of the use of IMSMA during the March/April 2004 timeframe.
Neven is working towards a bachelors degree in electro-technical study from the department of
Computing and Informatics at the University of Sarajevo in 2004. His study is temporarily on hold during his current relocation
to Puntland.
