The United
Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance
to Afghanistan (UNOCHA) has requested an impact survey to
be executed in Afghanistan.
Two Advance Survey Missions (ASM) took place in November 2000
and April 2001 with the funding from the United
States Department of State (USDOS).
The survey began in May 2003. Data collection began in November and is expected for completion in early 2005.
Funding is being provided by the European
Commission (through the United Nations Development Programme, UNDP), Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA),
and the government of Germany.
Survey operations began in May 2003 in
cooperation with the Mine Clearance Planning Agency (MCPA). A SAC team operates out of Kabul to manage
the survey. Click here for a webpage with links to meet the SAC team.
Training of the senior staff was completed 15 August.
